Holy Cross Pastor Nominated for National Church Leadership

Pastor Robert Bugbee, who has served at Holy Cross Church since 1994, will appear on the ballot for President of the Lutheran Church-Canada (LCC) when the national church meets for its triennial convention in June in Winnipeg. A successor will be elected to replace The Rev. Dr. Ralph E. Mayan, who is retiring after 12 years in this post.

Local congregations across LCC nominated various pastors during the winter. The five pastors who received the most nominations and consented to have their names appear on the ballot will form the slate. Those pastors include:

An equal number of parish pastors and lay representatives from across LCC will be the voting delegates to the convention. Balloting will begin on Friday, June 6, the first full business day of the gathering, set to meet at the Radisson Hotel in downtown Winnipeg.

Pastor Bugbee asks members and friends of Holy Cross Church to hold this election process in their prayers. He is happy to commend the matter to God, and will consider either outcome ... his election or his defeat ... as the Lord's guidance regarding where God wants him to serve.
